It seems an age ago when I first started taking photographs, Mr & Mrs Daguerreotype lived next door and lent me a camera, it was a bit slow..and most people pegged out before the exposure was finished....
It hasn't been quite that long in reality ! but I did start with film and hand processed a lot of B&W in the old days working as studio assistant in the basement of the St Martins school of Art. From where I had once graduated in film
Since the millenium I've worked digitally and also become a stylist . I have worked on many editorial magazine shoots diverse advertising from GWR to West End theatre, and also Directing Fashion shows for Shaftesbury Plc and The Crown Estate .
I have a good knowledge of historic fashion and C19th &20th design through my own collecting and study and my work reflects this with a nod to the past , but also with an eye wide open to everything that's happening now.
I shoot classical, clean advertising with an awareness of brand management on shoots having worked with many PR's to get that one special shot . Along with photoshop skills acquired through hours at the iMac coal face, I can create new things to delight, and also have the Stalinist ability to remove things that shouldn't be there, post shoot. Wrong colour coat...let me know.
